Suiyuan Technology becomes one of the first companies to settle in the Lingang New Area
On the morning of August 20, 2019, the mobilization meeting for the construction of the Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone was held at the Lingang Office Center. Li Qiang, Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC, unveiled the sign for the Lingang New Area. Zhong Shan, Minister of Commerce, and Ying Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Shanghai, delivered speeches and unveiled the sign for the Lingang New Area Administrative Committee.
At the meeting, Shanghai leaders presented business licenses to the first batch of enterprises settling in the Lingang New Area and issued overseas high-level talent certification letters to representatives of foreign talents. Suiyuan Technology, as one of the 13 representative enterprises among the first batch to settle in the Lingang New Area, was invited to attend the mobilization meeting for the construction of the Lingang New Area.
According to the "Overall Plan for the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lingang New Area" (hereinafter referred to as the "Overall Plan") issued by the State Council on August 6, the 119.5-square-kilometer pilot area has been entrusted with the mission of comprehensive, deep-level, and fundamental institutional innovation and reform. According to the "Overall Plan," the Lingang New Area is positioned as a "special economic functional zone" and is clearly stated to be "managed in reference to economic special zones," aiming to create a "special economic functional zone with greater international market influence and competitiveness."
The Lingang New Area will create the most open and free economic system. Focusing on key industries such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, biomedicine, and aerospace—industries considered "bottleneck" areas—it will powerfully build a number of world-class industrial clusters representing China's participation in international competition. According to the plan, by 2035, the Lingang region's gross regional product will exceed one trillion yuan, equivalent to creating another Pudong New Area.
Suiyuan Technology was established in Shanghai in March 2018 and has R&D centers in Shanghai and Beijing. Its products are high-end deep learning chips developed for cloud data centers, positioned for artificial intelligence training platforms. The chips will adopt a uniquely innovative architecture of independent research and development, featuring high computing power, high energy efficiency ratio, programmability, low cost, and support for mainstream machine learning frameworks. The company's R&D team members have more than ten years of experience in the development and mass production of high-end chips and related software ecosystems, with rich practical experience in engineering and product development, having successfully developed and mass-produced numerous large-scale chips.
